What You Can Expect

I plan to discuss and look into the following:

1. Funding for the arts and whether it is adequete or not

2.Is new technology supporting the arts, and how?

3. Are traditional arts (Ex. theater and novels) slowly being replaced?

4. Are we becoming more dependent on technological changes in the arts rather then the product (Ex. CGI vs hand drawn animation)

5. Have we become a culture obsessed with fast-paced entertainment? Why? How does this affect the arts?

6. With the Internet and other communicative devices, what impact does this have on the arts and how we communicate using arts?

About Me

Hello,

My name is Madelaine. I haven't really kept up a blog before though I have entertained the idea. I am 18 years old and am the eldest of my siblings: Melissa, Valerie, Joshua and my half-brother Silas. Both of my sisters are music-oriented (one plays bass, the other acoustic guitar) Joshua enjoys electronics. My mom works as an RN and a teacher for nursing students while my stepfather takes care of Silas, who has autism. My dad works as a project engineer.

As for a career, I always dreamed of becoming an artist or someone involved in with English like editing or journalism. Currently I have been writing for just about 7 years, working on a few novels, an anthology of poetry, as well as trying to write articles online which I have posted on a creative writing website called Webook.com. What I find most interesting about writing is the freedom one has while brainstorming, the process of the writing, and the satisfaction of finally completing a piece.
